Obituary of Michael Joseph Cuoco

Michael Joseph Cuoco, 85, passed away August 9, 2016 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, NY surrounded by his loving family. Born in White Plains, NY he was the son of the late Frank and Michelina Cuoco. Mike graduated from White Plains H.S. and White Plains Community College before joining the Air Force, proudly serving from 1949-1953. He married the former Patricia Palace on July 11, 1954. Mike took a job with G.E. in Schenectady as a Computer Applications Specialist, often traveling, fowarding his knowledge of electronics and computers as it applied to Large Steam Turbines. Mike and Pat raised their family in Glenville, NY where they have resided since 1954. He is fondly remembered as a devoted family man.Mike was a longtime parishioner of the Church of the Immaculate Conception and a dedicated member of the Alplaus Fire Department for 57 years, serving as 1st Assistant Chief, commissioner and treasurer. He was a 3rd degree member of the Order of Knights of Columbus, Schenectady Chapter, and avid vegetable gardener. Predeceased by by his brother John Cuoco Sr. and his sister Philomena "Fannie" Magnotta, he leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Patricia E. Cuoco, his son, David (Melissa) Cuoco of Waterford, daughters, Christine Cuoco of Malta and Patricia (Gerald) Washington of Glenville; two sisters, Mary Frances Pilauskas (Francine) and Anna (Joseph) Fragano. Mike is survived also by his cherished grandchildren: Anthony and Dena Barber and Kathleen, Ella and Ryan Cuoco. Numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 13 at 10am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. Glenville with Rev. Jerome Gingras officiating. Calling hours will be held Friday 5-8 pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Burial will be at Gerald Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Michael Joseph Cuoco's memory to the Alplaus Fire Department, Alplaus Avenue, Alplaus N Y 12008.
