Obituary of Donna J. Walsh

Donna Myers-Walsh (A.K.A. “Mrs D.”) After a long battle with cancer, Donna entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2017 at the age of 68. She resided in Rotterdam. A 1966 graduate of Guilderland Central High School. She was predeceased by her son Donald James Walsh, her parents , Don and Sue Myers, her brother Donald (Skip) Myers Jr., friends and other relatives. She is survived by four children, John (Kelly) DiGesualdo, Robert DiGesualdo, Ronald "Jamie"(Lisa)Walsh Jr. and Kristina Walsh, 8 grandchildren, Sanzio and Pia DiGesualdo, Jacob DiGesualdo, Jessica Sheremet, Joelle Walsh, Ronald Walsh III, Angelo Walsh and Julianna Bursor. She is also survived by her siblings, Elaine(Don) Krtanjek of Bel Aire, MD, Lori Myers and James (Kris) Myers, Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friend Monica Gentile. She worked as a real estate agent from 1968 until the late 1980’s primarily specializing in the sale of newly constructed homes. In 1982 she also started a career in the sale of cemetery property specializing in the sale of mausoleums, ground, bronze markers and granite headstones. She did this until 2002 when she opened up Christy’s. She was a sole proprietor for the business from 2002 until seven months after the onset of her illness, closing in May of 2012 when her license expired. She enjoyed cooking, especially for large crowds and was an avid reader. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Glenville Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Schenectady. Entombment will be held at St. Cyril’s Mausoleum.
