Obituary of Barbara C. Palmer

Barbara C. Palmer, 74, passed away September 2, 2017 at Ellis Hospital, her family at her side.
Born in Cincinnati, OH on December 23, 1942, the daughter of the late Philip and Mildred (Taylor) Corkill.
 

Barbara attended the University of Illinois, and graduated from Illinois State University.  She married Frank P. Palmer Jr. on August 15, 1964.

Barbara taught in the Schenectady school system and retired from the Galway school system.

She enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. She was an active member and past president of the Schenectady Panhellenic Alumnae Association.  She enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winters.

Survivors include her husband Frank P. Palmer Jr., her children; Frank P. Palmer of Jackson, NJ, Julie (Becky Moyer) Palmer of Cambridge, MA and Kurt (Christine) Palmer of Columbus, OH; her grandchildren: Ally,  Kaitlin, Jackson and Meredith Palmer; her brother, Philip (Suzanne) Corkill of Tuscon, AZ and Martha (Phillip) Jones of New Lenox, IL. She is survived also by several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday (September 5th) at 1 PM in the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. Scotia. Visiting hours will precede the service from 12 noon to 1 PM. Internment will be private at Woestina Cemetery in Pattersonville, NY.

The family prefers memorials in Barbara's name be made to a scholarship in her honor thru the Panhellenic Alumnae Association c/o Sherry Ruggles 24 Lorwood Dr Scotia, NY 12302.
