Even after several years have pasted since Charlie attended our Alzheimer's support group, his and your mom's memory lingers on. One of the members of the group sat with Bert when Charlie came to the meetings. Now this same person faces the trials of being the caregiver for her husband who has dementia.
As Support Group leader I can honestly say everyone who knew your father (and your mother and you sons through him) cares about all you experienced. There are still members of the group who return from time to time and ask about both of them and what happened. Each of your parents were memorable and remain in our thoughts as do you sons and what you endured. Your story tugs on our hearts...
Hopefully time can bring about healing and dim the memories.
