Obituary of Annette L. Vallely

Annette Vallely, age 74, of Charlton, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her family on October 1st, 2017– after a protracted battle with cancer.
Annette was the first born child of Philomena and Thomas Rohde on October 20, 1942, in Elmira, NY.  She graduated from Corning Community College in 1962 and was subsequently employed by Corning Glass as an administrative assistant.

Annette met her husband Terry in Elmira, New York; they were married in St. John’s Church on September 19, 1964.   She says  farewell to her husband of 53 years and two daughters, Christine (Schade) and Jennifer (Dorr),  her beloved sons-in-law Thomas Schade and Eugene Dorr, her most loved grandchildren Michael and Julia Schade,  her devoted brother Frank (Mary Lee) Rohde and her sister Barbara (Dr. Robert) Sponzo and sister-in-law Judy Quinter.  In addition, many nephews and nieces, all of whom were touched by her love.

Annette most enjoyed time spent with family.  Her love and caring was demonstrated in so many, many ways.  She enjoyed cooking, tennis, golf, reading, and a good laugh over a glass of red wine with her lifelong friends in Charlton, Florida and McGregor Links in Saratoga.  She cherished spending vacations each summer on Lake George with her family.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Annette during her illness at Saratoga Hematology/Oncology, who gave her the best possible care as well as the angels at Hospice of Saratoga County.  We would be remiss if heartfelt thanks were not extended to Dr. Robert Sponzo, our good shepherd - his guidance cannot be overstated.

The wake will be held at The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM on Friday, October 6th, followed  by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.  Burial will follow immediately after the mass for family members  at  Historical Sweetman Cemetery in Charlton.
