Obituary of Richard Henry Savage

Richard (Dick) Henry Savage, 87 of Charlton, New York, passed away on November 2, 2017 in Salt Lake City, UT.Dick was born in Sandusky, Ohio to William and Katharine Savage on January 26, 1930.  He attended Wilbur Lynch High School in Amsterdam, NY and graduated in 1947.  Dick served in the Korean War and was proud of his service to our county.  He began his professional art career as a carpet designer at Mohawk Carpet and managed the Advertising and Sales Promotion department at General Electric until he retired in 1980.  He enjoyed golf, art, travel and spending time with his devoted wife Carmela, children and grandsons.Dick is survived by his wife Carmela, children Kathy Savage, Laurie Savage (Wing), grandchildren Kyle Perry, Chad Wing and Alec Wing and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Richard (Colt) Savage and brother Paul Savage.Visitation will be held at Glenville Funeral Home on November 9, 2017 from 4-7PM. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville, NY on November 10, 2017 at 10AM.   Burial will take place at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at the Wellington Senior Living, Aspen Ridge Rehab and Comfort WoRx Hospice in Salt Lake City.
