Obituary of Linda E. deCruz-Harper
Linda E. deCruz-Harper, 70, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2017. Born in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, she was the daughter of late Julio Medina deCruz and Elizabeth (DeVito) deCruz. Linda attended Nazareth Academy High School in Philadelphia, PA; then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree at St. Francis College in Loretto, PA.
In 1975, she married her beloved husband, Kenneth B. Harper.
As a talented computer professional she worked for companies like Honeywell Information Systems, General Electric, and Bank of America. She retired from Bank of America after many faithful years. Linda was actively involved in her community through her work with the Southern Saratoga County Women’s Club, Captain's Treasures, and the Jonesville Food Pantry. Linda was also a devoted member of Corpus Christi in Clifton Park, NY.
People will always remember Linda as, shall we say, an active photographer. In her spare time she loved to read, knit, and play golf. Linda even began to beat Ken on the course in recent years. As a couple, Linda and Ken traveled extensively, visiting much of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and managing to visit all 50 US states.
She will be remembered as a generous and eternally optimistic woman who will be missed by many.
Survivors include her loving husband Kenneth B. Harper; her sons, Corey A. Harper and Jesse S. Harper; Jesse's daughter Valerie Harper, fiancee Charley, and step-daughter Aunye; her brother, Jules (Mary) deCruz and her sister Margaret deCruz; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. on Sunday, December 17th from 2 to 6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 18th at 9am at Corpus Christi Church , 2001 U.S. 9, Round Lake, NY 12151 . Interment will be private at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Glenville.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Linda's name to the Southern Saratoga County Women's Club and the American Cancer Society.
